Every so often, I stumble upon something so great that my only thought is: "This is SO interesting." That moment arrived when I discovered Gate, a manga about a parallel fantasy world being connected to modern day Japan.
It reminds me of an argument I had with my friends about the efficacy of modern day military squads vs medieval squadrons. One of my friends insisted that no amount of technology can overcome pure numbers while the rest of us argued that modern tactics, gear, and the overwhelming psychological advantage offered by advanced weaponry would be enough to overcome numbers given the right environment. It was a heated and hilarious debate. I wish somebody would make a game based on the premise. I long to shoot charging cavalrymen in the face.
Earlier, I watched YouTube videos related to earthquakes because of yesterday's earthquake. That led me through all sorts of disaster programs. Seriously, these shows feast off of fear. The chances of the world ending anytime soon are quite low (knocks on wood).
I've been on a manga spree lately and it doesn't look like I'll be slowing down anytime soon.
