Event Log: 3/7/14 - Continuation

My face has broken out, my teeth have yellowed, and I'm feeling like all sorts of shit. Yup, it's a continuation of yesterday. The last two days might as well be one mega day where all I did was win fake championships. I had lots of tasks slotted for today but I threw it all away for the promise of virtual rings. Now the question is: can I make up for everything by tomorrow night?

I won about 20 championships with the Lakers. I'm the owner, so I could do whatever the hell I want with the team. I'm in the year 2035 or something like that and not a single player from today is in the game. Hell, the first rookie I drafted is already in the Hall of Fame. I think my true calling may be a manager. I can't help but fiddle with numbers. I have more fun planning contracts and drafts than actually playing the game. Since I spend 99% of my time in the menus, the 2K soundtrack has been permanently seared into my brain.

Once you figure out the formula, it's pretty easy, and with the MyGM upgrades, you pretty much become unstoppable. Everybody you draft from the first round will become superstars in four years. The Lakers pretty much became a superstar farm, churning out star after star and replacing them with new ones. I only went into the luxury tax twice in my twenty years as GM.

In my save, they should rename the NBA to the Lakers League since I'm the only team that wins, except for one years where the Knicks won. As the old saying goes: Fuck Da Knicks.

You'd think with all my rings, the league would get together and impose some new rules or something. On a side note, Bill Russell is miraculous still alive to deliver the Finals MVP trophy every year.

Man, I went so far into the future, the latest winner of the Coach of the Year award reuses Kobe's player portrait. I wonder how far I can take it before the game starts spazzing out? It's gonna be a century of Lakers dominance, baby.

Oh, and today was my friend's birthday even though we didn't do anything. Maybe we're saving the event for tomorrow?
