Today is a test case for my ability to keep up with TV shows. It's not so bad right now since I'm only following one show, but things can get crazy once Game of Thrones is back. I might pick up some old shows like The Sopranos and I frequently plow through anime when the mood strikes me. TV content is a big of my entertainment diet.
If I give up one or hours a day, I can get through a lot of great stories. Currently, I'm on The Walking Dead. I dig it so far, which is why I'm surprised at the vehement criticism on message boards. This is why I distance myself from online discussion. It is poisonous. I'd rather enjoy the show with its caveats than obsess about every "failing." This has been the strongest season in a long time, or maybe my expectations are so low that just about anything halfway decent is an upgrade over previous seasons.
Speaking of anime, I'm watching A Certain Magical Index since the manga got me interested. The introduction is a slog. If I didn't already know what was going to happen, I would've dropped it right then and there. Honestly, the whole show is kind of weird. I don't know why I'm watching it when the story doesn't grip me. It's just barely interesting enough to keep me watching.
