Happy 4th of July! It's a celebration of freedom with barbecues and fireworks. I went to visit my cousins in Fontana with my two brothers, sister, and niece. I sat in the back with the baby. She was in a rear-facing cradle. For some reason, she couldn't stop blowing raspberries during the ride. Her neck was wet with spit.
It was good fun. I ate a cheeseburger, chicken, hot dog, KBBQ, and I topped the night off with a drumstick--the ice cream. The neighbors were lighting illegal aerials all over the place. Someone screwed up because an aerial was shot off sideways and blew up in a nearby intersection. They could've seriously hurt someone with that. I've seen so many fireworks that it's an old hat for me. I was content to sit back and watch. Buying fireworks is almost burning money.
I brought my DS in case I got bored but I left it in the car. I mostly played with my cousin's kids. I'm sort of amazed by the advances in toy technology. They had battery-operated squirt guns that fired streams of water in burst fire with the trigger held down. They were even loaded with water clips. So much for manual pump Super Soakers. My little brother discovered a semiautomatic Nerf gun. Damn kids, these days. Isn't it enough that y'all got iPhones? Next thing you know, they'll have self-transforming Transformers toys. One button push and voila! Transformation sequence initiated.
Then again, I got a PS4. I guess everything balances out.
